Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan 7/2 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Four exemplary customers of the local government-owned water company PDAM Bandarmasih are awarded umrah to the holy land of Makkah and Madinah in 2018.
These four exemplary customers received an umrah prize after drawing from 2,500 exemplary customers in the 45th anniversary of the company in its office hall, Wednesday.
In addition to drawing umrah prizes, PDAM presented one motorcycle, four notebooks, and eight mountain bikes for customers who routinely pay their water bills from the date 1 to 5 each month.
According to acting President Director of PDAM Bandarmasih Yudha Ahmadi, the company always gives appreciation to the exemplary customer every year with various prizes, especially Umrah.
This program, he said, proved to increase the motivation of customers to pay bills on time from the date of 1 to 5 each month.
"If last year the exemplary customers were about 900 people, this year increased sharply to 2,500 people," he said.
In fact, said Yudha, the number of model customers is still less than 5 percent of total PDAM customers which now exceed 160 thousand.
"We hope every year the number of model customers will continue to increase, because this is for the smooth operation of PDAM itself to continue to provide quality water for the community," he said.
Yudha said PDAM Bandarmasin in 2018 will focus on handling raw water. This is related to the quality of raw water that is concentrated in the Martapura River.
"In addition, we continue to also improve piping because there are still many old pipes, this is to increase the pressure distribution of clean water smoothly to customers to the end of the area," he said.
