Banjarbaru, S Kalimantan 17/11 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Hundreds of participants from various groups participated in a shooting competition organized by South Kalimantan Mobile Brigade (Brimobda) Unit for six days from Friday.


South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Brigadier General Rachmat Mulyana in Banjarbaru on Friday said that the shooting aims to bring together athletes who are members of the Indonesian Shooting Association (Perbakin) and reaction shooters (IPSC).

"Also to train the skills of each participant, so as to demonstrate the ability to shoot targets, in addition to training strategies in order to carve out the achievements in every championship or shooting competitions," he said.

According to him, the annual event of South Kalimantan Brimobda was also a shooting practice, especially for police officers who were given confidence in holding firearms.

"Our hope, police personnel who follow the championship become more trained to use firearms, especially to paralyze the perpetrators of crime according to applicable procedures," he said.

committee Chairman Adj Sr Comr (AKBP) Bambang Widjanarko said the participants consisted of South Kalimantan Mobile Brigade personnel, sector police personnel, and Directorate of South Kalimantan Police, TNI (National Armed Forces) units, government officials, private, and shooting community members.

"The number of participants reached hundreds of people, both police officers, and TNI units, and some who also registered directly during the championship," said Deputy Head of South Kalimantan Mobile Brigade Unit.

The categories are the pistol held on Friday (17/11) to Sunday (19/11), the long barrel of hunting on November 24-26, and airsoft gun category on November 26.

A participant, Kus Subiyantoro, said that the championship followed by police and TNI personnel, including the public, is very good for establishing relationships so as to enhance the intimacy and
fraternity among participants.

In addition to opening the shooting championship, the Police Chief signed the Musala Al Iman inscription which was built in the shooting ground of South Kalimantan Mobile Brigade with the aim that Brimob members and the community did not leave the five daily prayers.
