Tanjung, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Field Manager of PT Pertamina Exploration and Production V Tanjung Field Asset in Tabalong, South Kalimantan, Andri Haribowo said there is no addition of new oil and gas wells in 2018.

"For the reason of funding, next year there will be no new oil and gas wells added, so we only optimize the old wells," explained Andri in Tanjung on Tuesday.

While new oil and gas well in Pugaan Sub-district, its production is still below the target of 150 barrels per day. Its ability is only about 50 barrels per day.

Although oil production is still low, said Andri, the exploitation in Pugaan continues considering the funds allocated was very large.

Pertamina this year only targets its production at around 3,300 barrels per day or less than 4,000 barrels per day considering there are no additional new oil and gas wells.

To optimize the old wells, as recommended by the government to increase oil and gas production, technology is necessary that requires substantial funds, explained Andri.

However, the central government's policy compensated PT Pertamina EP Asset V Tanjung Field in the form of eight new oil and gas wells following the takeover of Tepian Field by PT Adaro Indonesia as a coal mine site.

Public Relations Representative of Pertamina EP Tanjung Akhmad Ruspandi said that in Tepian Field there are 20 oil and gas wells, eight of which are still in production and the rest are suspension wells.
