Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 14/11 (AntaranewsKelsel) - The Banjarmasin Integrated Service Center for Women and Children Empowerment (P2TP2A) noted cases of sexual violence dominated dozens of cases of violence to children it handled during the year.


"The most dominant case of violence against children is sexual violence," Banjarmasin P2TP2A Secretary Tanti Herawati said at the inauguration of the Family Learning Center (Puspaga) at PDAM Bandarmasih yard on Monday.

According to him, throughout 2017 the agency has received 37 cases of domestic violence and child sexual abuse, about 80 percent of them are cases of violence against children.

"Of the 37 cases we received, so far 34 cases have been handled," he explained.

A number of cases of violence against children, Tanti explained, none other than family factors and promiscuity.

"Surely the girls who become victims of this. We are very concerned," he said.

According to him, the still high cases of violence against children should be the attention of all parties, so that all can work together to suppress and even eliminate it.

"Especially the parents, should control son and daughter, toavoid the evil," he said.

Meanwhile, the Family Welfare Movement (PKK) Chairwoman Hj Siti Wasilah stated that the high number of criminality against children in this area must be handled immediately, not only by the government andthe authorities, but also the participation of the community.

According to her, the era of information disclosure with social media should be utilized by the community to remind each other of the dangers that can threaten children against crime.

"The most important thing that can fortify the family with the science of religion, because with the science of religion will prevent them from the unfavorable free association," she said.
