Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 1/11 (AntaranewsKalsel) - The University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) held the Summer Course Program 2017 on the topic "Mining Closure And Forest Rehabilitation In Ex Mining Areas: Mitigation Of Ecological Impact".

A number of foreign students who attended were also introduced to the mine management in South Kalimantan with all its problems.

"From the first of how we do mining activities and how to reclaim the former mining land, all we share out," said one of the presenters, Prof. Dr. Ir H Yudi Firmanul Arifin, Wednesday.

Yudi Firmanul Arifin who is also Vice Rector IV of ULM added that the Summer Course Program 2017 was held from 29 October to 6 November 2017.

The students who followed the program come from Malaysia and Libya. Meanwhile, participants from Indonesia include students from Syiah Kuala University, Brawijaya University and Kalimantan Institute of Technology.

Head of International Service Unit of ULM Arief Budiman said the program is being implemented to attract foreign students coming to ULM by providing a topic and programs offered to the student.

ULM Rector Prof. H Sutarto Hadi when opening the event at the Hall of Engineering Faculty in Banjarbaru claimed the university continued to design activities for international students. It is a step towards the internationalization of ULM.
