The management of state-owned ferry operator PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry Batulicin Branch, South Kalimantan, temporarily suspends the KMP Bamega's voyage from Teluk Gosong Pulau Laut Port to Pulau Sebuku Port.

GM of PT ASDP Batulicin Branch Ardian, represented by Head of Business and Service Department Andri Papalia, said here on Thursday that the ship will undergo periodic maintenance and repair (docking) for 15 days.

"The ship is scheduled to be delivered to Koja Bahari Shipyard in Banjarmasin City in October. It will undergo regular maintenance to improve its performance," said Andri.

According to shipping SOP, the ship will undergo maintenance, such as inspection, repairs, painting the hull, and cleaning the hull below the waterline.

For the time being, passengers traveling between Pulau Sebuku (Sebuku Island) and Pulau Laut and vice versa can use other transportation.

Andri said that KMP Bamega is being serviced not because of serious damage to engine or other parts, but rather due to scheduled routine maintenance in October 2026.

"This is PT ASDP's effort to provide the best service to its customers, to make certain that passengers do not complain due to ship problems during operation," said Andri.

Andri stressed that PT ASDP is committed to providing the best service in line with the government's vision and mission. The company currently serves one round-trip service.

"The average number of passengers at the two ports is 13 for four-wheeled vehicles, 51 for two-wheeled vehicles, and 30 for passengers," he concluded.
