Batulicin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The Indonesia Ferry,  River, Lake and Sea Crossing Transportation Agency (ASDP) Batulicin Branch proposed the addition of a ship to the central ASDP to serve passengers on the Batulicin-Tanjung Serdang, Kotabaru, route.

ASDP Batulicin Branch General Manager Yudhi Yanuar here Saturday said the proposed addition of the ship was based on the need to provide services for passengers to cross from Tanah Bumbu to Kotabaru (Batulicin-Tanjung Serdang) and vice versa.

"We have submitted the proposal to the central ASDP in mid-December 2018, but there has been no answer yet, whether approved or not," he said.

He explained, currently, ASDP Batulicin has five ships, namely KMP Bamega, KMP Teluk Cindrawasih, KMP Gutila, and KMP Krapu Tiga to serve passengers on the Batulicin-Tanjung Serdang route, and KMP Awu-Awu for the Batulicin-South Sulawesi route.

According to the plan, in January 2019 KMP Bamega will be operated to serve the Gosong Bay Pulau Laut-Sebuku Island route, so ASDP Batulicin proposed additional ship in lieu of KMP Bamega.

The number of passengers of ferries on the Batulicin-Tanjung Serdang route began to increase, so the proposed addition of the fleet was to improve service for ship passengers.

The proposed ferry is the KMP Poncamoale which was previously operated to serve passengers on Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. The ferry has a capacity of 210 passengers and 20 two-and four-wheeled vehicles.
