Batulicin, S Kalimantan (Antaranews Kalsel) - The number of ships passengers at Batulicin Seaport for the Batulicin - Tanjung Perak Surabaya route and vice versa increased by 50 percent compared to normal days.

"The increase in the number of passengers on the Batulicin-Surabaya route has occurred since December 18, and the peak of the passenger boom occurred on December 23," said the Head of Batulicin Branch of PT Dharma Lautan Utama Shaleh here, Monday.

He said the increase in the number of passengers was due to the fact that many people enjoyed long holidays at the end of the year to go home to their hometowns.

On normal days the average passenger to Surabaya reaches 150 people, while two-wheeled and four-wheeled vehicles reach six units. But in the current conditions the number of passengers reaches 300-400 people and vehicles 15-20 units.

In addition to the Batulicin-Surabaya route, the increase in passenger numbers also occurred on the Batulicin-South Sulawesi route which reached 50 percent compared to normal days.

Despite the increase in the number of passengers, PT Dharma Lautan continues to serve well. Because the passenger capacity of the ship is still enough with the existing fleet.

It was confirmed that all of the ship's passengers got beds when the ship sails, because the bed is available for 1,000 people, while the number of passengers reached 400 people on each departure.
