Banjarmasin, S Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Based on the assessment of an institution, e-government implementation in South Kalimantan still needs improvement, while many services to the community are still by hand.
     

Head of South Kalimantan Communication and Informatics Agency (Diskominfo) M Hawarie said the implementation of e-government still requires study and attention of all stakeholders.
     
"E-government is the local government's move towards a smart city, so we should have turned to electronics in all public services," Hawarie said when he was speaking as the speaker of the National Seminar on the Role of E-Government in Giving Good Governance toward Smart City "at Q Dafam Syariah Hotel, Banjarbaru, on Thursday (12/10).
     
The seminar was held by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM).

In addition to the Head of the Communications and Informatics Agency, also present as a speaker University of Indonesia (UI) Professor and Chairman of APTIKOM Prof. Zainal Hasibuan, Srie Dhiandhini from Diskominfo Bandung and Vision Head and Vertical Apps Solution Indosat Oreedoo Bussiness Hendra Sumiarsa.
     
Hawarie stated that if e-government is implemented thoroughly, it will make it easier for the government and community to access data quickly and easily.
     
For example, information on forest and land fires, information on hospital services and so on. In this case, he added, people need to master the science and technology.
     
"So the data of district and province must also be connected, therefore cooperation between provinces with district and city government in the field of communication and information also needs to be improved and synergized," he explained.
     
Meanwhile, Dean of FMIPA ULM Heri Budi Santoso said, in terms of infrastructure and budget preparedness, the government can actually implement e-government and smart city.
     
While the Chairman of the Seminar Committee Irwan Budiman acknowledged, it need the role of telecommunication companies, and a homeworkd for local government, to make it happen.
     
"Some obstacles in the implementation of electronic-based services are telecommunication networked have not been spread evenly, especially in remote areas," he explained.
     
Prof Zainal Hasibuan suggested the local government should create a framework and set targets to be realized, until the implementation of e-government and smart city can be successful.
     
"Many advantages of e-government, including speed and timeliness of service and costs that can be reduced," said Zainal.
