Hundreds social workers to alleviate problems in Tabalong

Tanjung, South Kalimantan 1/10 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Hundreds of Social Workers (PSM) from 13 districts and cities in South Kalimantan were doing Karya Bakti or social work in Kampung Baru Village, Tabalong District.

Chairman of PSM South Kalimantan Sukardi in Tanjung on Sunday said the 15thKaryaa Bakti aims to raise social volunteers in order to alleviate social problems.

"Karya Bakti's work that we carry out are mass circumcision, free groceries package, health examination and tree planting," explained Sukardi.

The Karya Bakti work was held for three days from 29 September to 1 October followed by 165 participants from 13 districts and cities.

The social mass circumcision, according to doctor Agus from local health a, followed by 50 children and involving seven circumcisions medician.

Aid packages of food and plant seeds were symbolically handed over by the Regent of Tabalong Anang Syakhfiani accompanied by Head of South Kalimantan Social Agency, Tabalong Secretary Abdul Muthalib Sangadji and South Kalimantan PSM administrators.

The 15th Karya Bakti with the theme of Realizing the Religious, Prosperous and Self-Help Community, said the Regent can help social problems in Kampung Baru Village.

"So it is a pride for Tabalong to host the 15th Karya Bakti of Social Workers Gathering and then ready to support similar activities," said Anang.
