DPRD urges transportation agency to make road markings clear

Kotabaru, S Kalimantan 12/9 (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Kotabaru legislative council (DPRD), South Kalimantan, urged the local Transportation Agency to clarify the construction of road markers for the safety of people in traffic.

Deputy Chairman of DPRD Kotabaru M Arif, after accompanying Commission II in a comparative study to Banjarbaru Transportation Agency, said that the presence of road markers is very important in the effort to maintain the safety of traffic.

Road marks are marks on the road surface that include equipment or marks that form longitudinal lines, transverse lines, oblique lines and other symbols that serve to direct the flow of traffic and limit the area of interest of traffic.

"We know, Kotabaru is geographically has a lot of hills, it impacts on the structure of the winding road, causing the vulnerability of accidents," said Arif.

Therefore it is necessary to maximize the effort to complete all the cues for road users in particular, road markings, so that motorists take care every traffic.

In relation to the comparative study, he continued, many things must be considered in road markings, among them must adjust the place and the situation of the road, traffic density and other factors.
