S Kalimantan hajj pilgrims bleeding due to heat of Mecca

Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 11/8 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Head of South Kalimantan Office of Ministry of Religious Affairs H Noor Fahmi revealed, based on the information of hajj officers, some pilgrims from this province were bleeding in the nose due to the heat of weather in Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

"We were informed that hot weather in Mecca at this time up to 48 degrees Celcius," he said in Banjarmasin, Friday.

But he ensured that the condition of pilgrims, who are not familiar with the hot weather in the holy land of Mecca, can be handled by the health team.

"So it is normal, heat in the day and very cold in the night, but our people are not used to it, so they get health problems," said Noor Fahmi.

Currently the prospective Hajj pilgrims from Banjarmasin Embarkation already in the city of Mecca, he said, are of flight group (Kloter) 1 from Banjarmasin and Kloter 2 from the District of Banjar.

"Kloter 1 has been performing Umrah, previously they have been doing Arbain or praying together 40 times in Nabawi Mosque, Madinah City," he said.

So far, he said, seven flight groups from South Kalimantan have been departed to Madinah, as the first phase of Indonesian candidate hajj pilgrims.

"The second phase immediately depart to Mecca, and the pilgrims of our area begin 17 August, starting from flight group 13," he said.

Noor Fahmi said South Kalimantan prospective Haj pilgrims who depart this year according to its quota are 3,848 people from 13 districts and cities.

"I ask prospective Haj pilgrims who wait for departure to continue to maintain health, because the journey of worship to take is quite heavy and long, the weather is very different with the homeland, need good stamina," he insisted.
