Kotabaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Kotabaru District Government, South Kalimantan, will open a new transmigration area in Pamukan for 700 transmigrant people.


Regional Secretary of Kotabaru H Said Akhmad on Wednesday, in the exposure of study results of Transmigration Area Pre-Plan  (RKT) of Pamukan, said the transmigrants will come from local residents and outside Kalimantan.

"With this transmigration program we hope there will be positive impacts. Those we send from outside the region have technological and human resources skills to be examples of local communities on how to farm properly," he said.

Still according to Said, for this transmigration program Kotabaru government will provide fertile land, so they will be able to farm properly.

Head of Area Planning Subdirectorate Ministry of Villages, Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration Monang Simarmata said as the district secretary has said Kotabaru has drawn up Transmigration Area Plan (RKT) in the regional budget (APBD).

"As for the physical development will be of the state budget (APBN), and will be made more technical planning, such as building houses and roads," he said.

Furthermore, he said, if there is a document will be proposed to the center and decided by the Ministry of Manpower and Transmigration that this area will be established into a transmigration area so that funding in the next year automatically shaded.

He also admitted happy, because the local government has allocated funds for transmigration planning.

The exposure in Paris Barantai building Kotabaru was attended by Chairman of Commission I DPRD Kotabaru, Head of Manpower and Transmigration Agency, Coordination Forum Regional Kotabaru, Head of South Pamukan Sub-district, Head Sub-district of Sampanahan, Head Sub-district of Sungai Durian, Head Sub-district of North Pamukan, Head Sub-district of West Pamukan and village heads across the district.
