Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan Regional Police assembled managements of all online media across the province to cooperate.

"This initial meeting as a form of silaturahim, so we better know the management and journalists of online media who used to expose activities in South Kalimantan Police and it ranks," said Head of Public Relations of South Kalimantan Police Mochamad Rifai in Banjarmasin, Tuesday.

In the future, Rifai said, a cooperation could be made between South Kalimantan Police and online media with the principle of mutual benefit.

"With legality we would be comfortable with each other as the managements are responsible and so forth," said Rifai.

Head of Public Relations recognized the swift flow of information now can not be separated from the role of online media, including social media that is unstoppable spread the news, whether it is true news or facts or false alias hoax.

For that, the National Police Chief Tito Karnavian through South Kalimantan Police Chief Brig. Gen. Rachmat Mulyana has instructed to counter every news, especially news related to police institutions considered to be misleading netizens.

"Therefore, we expect participation of legal online media with legal entities to provide enlightenment to their readers so people have the correct news handles to filter the information that sprung up in cyberspace," said Rifai again.
