Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 21/7 (AntaranewsKalsel) - A member of the North Amuntai Sector Police in North Hulu Sungai (HSU) District seized 26.5 boxes or 2,650 G-class drug type of Zenith from a dealer.
"The perpetrator MY was riding a public minivan (angkot), when police intercepted him and found 2,650 Zenith he brought," said HSU Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner (AKBP) Agus Sudaryatno through Public Relation First Inspector (Iptu) Alam in Amuntai on Friday.
He said the arrest of the drug dealer started when the police received public information, then followed-up by North Amuntai Police Chief Iptu Teguh Budiyuwono and immediately gathered his members and moved quickly to stop the angkot on the Panawakan Village road, Sub-district of Haur Gading.
According to Alam, the effort to disclose the drug case has become the duty of the HSU police as ordered by South Kalimantan Regional Police Chief Brigadier General Rachmat Mulyana to combat narcotics and illegal drugs like Zenith which has been very disturbing for society.
"We are grateful to the people who quickly provide information, so the drug is successfully seized and not to circulate to the users," said Alam.
The police also asked the public to not hesitate always help the Police by proactively providing information if they know of any indication of drug distribution.
The temporary police examination put MY charged under article 196 jo 197 Act No 36/2009 on Health with a penalty of a maximum sentence of 15 years imprisonment.
