Cement factory PT Conch South Kalimantan provided scholarship for 16 students in Tabalong District, South Kalimantan, to study at Wuhu Institute of Technology, China, majoring in mechatronics and construction enginneering.

Tabalong Regent H Muhammad Noor Rifani appreciated Conch's real support for Tabalong Smart program and advised scholarship recipients to take advantage of this golden opportunity.

"After completing studies in China, I hope the scholarship recipients to serve and become "players" in your own region," said the Regent when sending off them here on Tuesday.

In addition to scholarship to study in China, Conch which operates in Saradang Village, Haruai Sub-district, also provided two months internship for 50 people.

The two programs are follow-up to cooperation between Tabalong government and PT Conch to produce  superior and technology savvy human resources.

The send-off ceremony was attended by representatives from PT Conch, Mr Ling Yunfeng and Florentinus, along with staff.

Acting Head of Tabalong Manpower Office Hadi Ismanto said that the internship participants were students of BLK Tanjung (Tanjung Vocational Training Center) and job seekers assisted by the office.

"The internship cooperation will last for five years and can be extended by agreement," explained Hadi.

Meanwhile, Hadi said that scholarship recipients to China receive a full scholarship, covering tuition fee, accomodation, books, insurance, residence permits, and medical examinations.

This include the cost of dormitory supplies, daily expenses, and one round-trip airfare for three-year study period (departure and graduation ticket).

"The total value of scholarship is 20,000 Yuan per year per students (equivalent to Rp44 million)," Hadi added.
