Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Two ship crews were killed after being trapped in a barge in Barito River, Marabahan, Barito Kuala (Batola), South Kalimantan, Wednesday morning.


"Victims, Hasril (40) and Way Trisno (44), could not be helped after working accident stuck in the hull of the barge," Head of Banjarmasin SAR Office Abram B Kolimon said in Marabahan on Wednesday.

He said the incident started when Hasril checked in the barge holder of Sekar Samudera, because the water pump stuck while in Badandan Village, Sub-district of Cerbon, Batola.

But after the long-awaited he did not come up to the surface. Furthermore, Way Trisno, who intended to help victim, entered the barge hold and also did not came back up.

"Knowing the two victims stuck in the barge hull, another colleague reported to water police (Satpolairud) of Batola Police which further informed the Banjarmasin SAR," said Abram.

SAR members directly move to the scene. 14 RescuerS using two rescue carS, carrying Alkom and two sets of SCBA equipment (self contained breathing apparatus) and other supporting equipment.

The joint SAR team finally evacuateD the victim from inside the barge hull. The victimS were found dead at 10.50.

Section Head of Guard-Patrol Directorate of Water and Air Police (Ditpolairud) of South Kalimantan Regional Police Comr Sarjono who was in the location said to know the exact cause of death, the body immediately taken to Ulin Hospital Banjarmasin for visum.

"According to our duties, we check the witnesses to know clearly the work incidents that happened to the ship crews," said Sarjono.
