The festival organized by the provincial government of South Kalimantan on Martapura River and Siring Nol Kilometer (Zero Kilometer Embankment) in Banjarmasin on August 8-10, 2025. Thirteen districts and cities participated in the festival.
As a co-host, Banjarmasin City Secretary Ikhsan Budiman here on Friday stated that the festival has a direct impact on local economy and tourism in the city.

He underlined that the floating market, which is a national tourism icon of South Kalimantan, is a true reflection of Banjarmasin's culture. It attracts tourists to come, foster local SMEs, and promotes the city's typical products.
Various rare dishes and snacks, such as es kero, Banjar traditional cakes, displayed at the festival, as well as traditional games steeped in river culture.
"The theme 'The Road to the Memory Area of Our village', aims to evoke a nostalgic spirit of Banjar people's lives, which are closely tied to rivers," he said.
The festival, he opined, indirectly serves as a stepping stone for the government to strengthen Banjarmasin's image as the City of a Thousand Rivers, not only preserving river culture identity, but transforming it into a driving force for creative economy.
South Kalimantan Regional Secretary M Syarifuddin, who opened the festival, said the event is not just a tourism agenda, but an effort to preserve the river cultural heritage that has become the identity of Banjar people.
"Floating market is a unique cultural heritage with high historical, economic, and social value," he said.
