Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - The Mayor of Banjarmasin Ibnu Sina has asked the central government for the case of circulation and abuse of Zenith pills to put into Law No. 35/2009 on narcotics.
"We have proposed it through the Banjarmasin National Narcotics Agency (BNNK), in order the case of Zenith is included in the narcotics law," he said, Tuesday.
He said Zenith case in South Kalimantan, especially in Banjarmasin, has been in the emergency category, so that extraordinary handling is required.
The impact of the circulation and misuse of Zenith or Carnophen pills in the city of ??a thousand rivers is no less great than the abuse of ecstasy and other drugs.
It is expected that Zenith sanctions can enter into narcotics law, so that the BNN and police can take firm action.
"If you hope on the local regulation it can only give maximum sanction for six months of imprisonment and a fine of Rp50 million. It difference if enter narcotics law, then distributors and users will be more afraid," said the Mayor.
To note the case of Zenith is currently put into the Health Act in which can only punish dealers and distributors, while the user can not be.
"Hopefully the problem related to the dangerous G-class drug case can be resolved quickly and the central government can include Zenith type Carnophen and similar into the narcotics act," said the numbered person in Banjarmasin City.
