Regent of Barito Kuala (Batola), South Kalimantan, H Bahrul Ilmi said he was proud that Pulau Sewangi Village was selected by the central government as a pilot for the Indonesia Common Space (RBI) program di Kalimantan.
"Batola is the one in Kalimantan as a pilot for RBI program out of six RBI pilots in Indonesia," he said in a press statement released on Saturday.
Even before being elected as a regent, he was present as a community leader when Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (PPPA) visited RBI launching location in Pulau Sewangi on December 5, 2024.

"Now that I am the regent, of course I fully support this program, because it is in line with our vision to improve the quality of life of the community and alleviating violence against children and women," he expounded.
In Pulau Sewangi, the community has use the village grain house as RBI location. It has been renovated and equipped with facilities to support RBI activities.
"As a regent I ask Population Control, Family Planning, Women Empowerment and Child Protection (PPKBP3A) Office to support the RBI activities and ensures this program runs effectively and efficiently," he pointed out.
According to him, an ideal village is a village whose people are prosperous, educated, and participate in development activities. It has sufficient roads, bridges, and health and education facilities.
"Of course I hope that RBI program in Pulau Sewangi can be an example for other villages in Batola, Kalimantan and Indonesia," he said.
The Regent hopes that the program will help improving the quality of life of the community and reduce violence against children and women in Batola District.
The Ruang Bersama Indonesia or Indonesia Common Space (RBI) is the PPPA Ministry program as a center for women's empowerment and child protection.
