Barito Kuala (Batola) Regent Hj Noormiliyani AS declared two village as women and child friendly (DRPPA), Saturday (February (12, 2022).

The declaration of Sepakat Bersama Village, Anjir Muara Sub-district, and Pulau Sewangi Village, Alalak Sub-district, took place at the Population Control, Family Planning, Women Empowerment and Child Protection (DPPKBP3A) Agency.

It was witnessed by Secretary of Women Empowerment and Child Protection Ministry Pribudiarta, expert staff of the Ministry, Assistant Deputy for Women Protection, and nationa facilitators through a zoom meeting.

Regent Noormiliyani stated that the program was one of the efforts to fulfill the rights of women and children.

Batola, she said, had long been committed to being friendly for children and women. It was proofed by the large number of women's representation in various fields, including village heads. This district has the most female village heads, namely 12 out of 163 village heads.  

Head of South Kalimantan Women's Empowermen and Child Protection Agency Husnul Khatimah said that gender issues are still a concern, so the ministry felt the need to appoint districts/cities to have a women and child friendly village model. 

“In South Kalimantan only Batola and Tanah Laut can be used as model for women and child friendly village according to the Ministry's indicators,” he said. 

Previously, Head of Batola DPPKBP3A Harliani reported that the launching was carried out on the basis of the stipulation of Batola as a model district of DRPPA according to the PPPA Ministry letter Number 70 of 2021.

The declaration was also attended by Batola Regional Secretary H Zulkipli Yadi Noor, Chairwoman of TP-PKK Hj Saraswati Dwi Putranti Rahmadian Noor, Chairwoman of DWP Hj Herwina Rezeki Zulkipli Yadi Noor, sub-district heads, volunteers for women and children (Sapa) and invitees.
