The state-owned electricity firm PT PLN (Persero) through South and Central Kalimantan Main Distribution Unit successfully held PLN Mobile Run Banua 2025 participated by a total 1,800 runners in Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan.
Not only for sport, said PLN South and Central Kalimantan PR in its written statement, the event also contributed to reduce carbon emission by 2,934 kilogram CO2, as part of PLN's support for environment sustainability.
The event, which was held dalam rangka Bulan K3 (occupational safety and health) nasional melibatkan berbagai kalangan dari masyarakat umum, pelajar, komunitas lari, pegawai PLN, hingga para atlet untuk kategori 5K dan 10K dengan start dan finis Lapangan Murjani, Banjarbaru, and flag off started at 06.00 WITA.
Daily Executive of South Kalimantan Regional Secretary Muhammad Syarifuddin accompanied by General Manager of PLN South and Central Kalimantan Ahmad Syauki, PLN management, Forkopimda, TNI-Polri, media leaders, and invited guests.
"I appreciate PLN Mobile Run Banua 2025 as an effort to build a culture of healthy living while exploring potential regional athletes. So this is not just a running event, but also a means to improve public health all at once attracting talented runners who have the potential to make the region proud," said Syarifuddin.
GM Ahmad Syauki emphasized that PLN mobile Run was part of PLN' commitment to invite society to live a healthy lifestyle as well as to support environmental sustainability.
"We invite all participants to run not only for health, but also for a greener future, because by running we contribute to reduce carbon emissions and protecting the earth," said Syauki.
According to him, carbon emission reduction in this activity was calculated based on a comparison with mobility using fuel-based vehicles. If vehicle produce emissions of 2.4 kg CO2 per 10 km, then the total distance covered by 1,800 runners in the PLN Mobile Run Banua 2025 could reduce emissions by up to 2,934 kg CO2.
"This event proves, through simple step such as running, we can make a real impact in reducing carbon emissions. This is a small step that brings a big change," said Syauki.
The PLN Mobile Run Banua 2025 which was attended by thousands of participants was also expected to be a platform for runners to excel and continue to develop so as to achieve maximum results and achievements.
"This activity with a spirit of togetherness ia a proof that sport can be a tool to support sustainability. PLN is committed to continue to present sustaiable agendas to achieve Net Zero Emissions and a greener future," said Syauki.
