The Regent of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, H Sayed Jafar inaugurates Pulau Laut Kepulaun Dock, to smooth flow of goods and services in the island chain of "Bum Saijaan" (Kotabaru's nickname).
"This dock is a concrete action of the district government of Kotabaru in encouraging progress in transportation and infrastructures," said the Regent, Wednesday.
The dock, he said, will become the gateway to connect various areas in Kotabaru, while facilitating people mobility and distribution of goods, which ultimately will encourage people economic growth amd create jobs in the region.

The pier is one of the government's efforts to improve the quality of sea transportation. The Regent hopes that the infrastructure must continue to be maintained, so it can provide optimum benefits for the people.
"All of this requires cooperation of all parties to maintain cleanliness, safety, and comfort of this pier so it can be used sustainably," he pointed out.
Head of Kotabaru Transportation Office Khairian Ansari explained that the dock construction was a form of the local government's commitment to continue to improve and accelerate wquitable development of transportation infrastructure to push economic growth and people's welfare.
The Pulau Laut Kepulauan dock, which is 160 meters long and 4.7 meters wide, was buit using the 2024 Kotabaru APBD (budget) with a contract value of Rp7.6 billion.
Husaen Marjuki, one of salah satu tokoh masyarakat Tanjung Lalak Utara community leaders, expressed his gratitudeto the Regent of Kotabaru for the pier had just been inaugurated as one of facilities to boost the economy of residents of Pulau Laut Kepulauan Sub-district.
