Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 1/4 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Criminal investigation unit of East Banjarmasin Sector Police is probing into the fire accident occurred at the Siaga Surgery Hospital.


"We have put police line across the scene of the fire for investigation," said Banjarmasin Police Chief Senior Commissioner Anjar Wicaksana Sik here on Saturday.

He said, for the process of the investigation there were several witnesses testified, including Siaga Surgery Hospital receptionist Fadil (19) and a nurse, Samson (27).

Based on the testimony of witnesses, the fire occurred at predawn around 01.30 Saturday morning at in the 1st floor of the hospital, which lies in Kebun Bunga Urban Village, East Banjarmasin.

According to Fadil, at the beginning he saw a fire appeared from Dewi Kunti room . He rushed to ask security guards to help evacuate patients to avoid the fire.

"There are about 16 patients were evacuated and taken out of the hospital since the fire;" Banjarmasin police chief said.

"From the initial investigation at the scene we found no casualties," he said, adding that the examination also found the cause of the fire was electrical short circuit.
