Kotabaru District, South Kalimantan Province, welcomes participants of the 2024 inter-provincial and inter-regional youth exchange (PPAPD) as it is entrusted to host the event.
A total of 80 young people came to Kotabaru, nine representatives from provinces, 17 representatives from 12 districts and cities throughout South Kalimantan, and 53 were from Kotabaru.
During the five days of activities, they were placed in five villages, namely Batuah, Tirawan, Semayap, Megasari, and Sebelimbingan.
Head of Kotabaru Tourism, Youth and Sports Office (Disparpora) Sony Tua Halomoan said the event could be a place to exchange knowledge and creative information.
"This is also part of the regional head's vision and mission, namely the realization of Kotabaru community that is independent and prosperous through improvements in agribusiness and tourism, improving a religious, healthier, smarter, creative and skillful society," he said, Tuesday.

Kotabaru Expert Staff for Government Zainal Arifin said welcome to all participants of 2024 PPAPD in Kotabaru District.
"This activity not only aims to strengthen national unity and integrity, but it also provides opportunities for young people to know each other, sharing experiences, and understand cultures and natural wealth from various regions in Indonesia," he pointed out.
He hopes, young people will become agents of positive change and play active role in development, both at the regional and national levels.
"I invite you to make the best use of this opportunity. Learn from different experiences and build friendly relationship that will be useful for life in the future," he said.
The Ministry of Youth and Sport's Functional Official for Policy Analysis Main Expert Wisler Manalu said that this program is expected to educate and inspire our young generation, whose population currently reaches 24.7 million.
Youth is valuable asset that need to be developed. In the future, we must prepare them with right educational skills, rights and innovations, he said.
