The District Government of Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, through Deputy Regent Andi Rudi Latif received the Regional Action Plan (RAD) for Youth Development Award from the Indonesian Minister of Youth and Sports Dito Ariotedjo in Jakarta.

The awards were given to eight regional goverment throughout Indonesia that have completed drafting the RAD of youth service, including Kotabaru.

"The eight regional heads who attended have provided youth service before the Minister of Home Affairs's letter of August 18 was issued," Minister Ariotedjo noted as quoted by the Kotabaru Commmunication and Informatics Office in its press release, Thursday.

The Ministry in it's letter No 400.3.5/9106/Bangda dated 18 August 2023 asked governor, regent, and mayor to implement Presidential Decree No 86/2021 concerning DBON (the implementation of the Grand Design of National Sports) and Presidential Decree No. 43/2022 regarding cross-sectoral strategic coordination for the implementation of RAD of youth services.

"The eight regional heads who were rewarded with appreciation includng Governor of South Kalimantan, Governor of North Kalimantan, Governor of West Java, Governor of Riau, Governor of North Sumatra, Governor of Central Sulawesi, Regional Government of Kotabaru, and Bengkalis Regent," he said.

He added that guarding the future of younger generation is not mainly the task of the Ministry of Youth and Sport but it is the duty of all parties, from village head to the head of state.

"Collaboration across generation, collaboration across agency is the key to the success of this national action. President Jokowi is inviting us to do a marathon to keep moving forward for Indonesia to progress," said Dito.

He made it concrete, districts/cities and province can escorting one leading sport that is in DBON priority by allocating a sport budget based on article 75 Law No. 11 of 2022, according to their authority.

Deputy Regent Andi Rudi Latif, or familiarly called Bang Arul, said to foster and develop a sport ecosystem in the region through the implementation of DBON, Kotabaru is very representative, because it already has several sports that are included in DBON priority.

"RAD of youth services and DBON implementation is the foundation for optimizing the demographic bonus that we have to escort the future of youth generation and our sport," said Bang Arul who is also Chairman of KONI Kotabaru.
