Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Central Statistics Agency noted export and import trade balance in South Kalimantan in January 2017 had a surplus of USD 535.37 million.


"The South Kalimantan trade balance still showed a positive value, in the beginning of this year it already have a surplus," said South Kalimantan BPS Head Diah Utami in Banjarbaru, Thursday.

She said the export-import trade balance surplus in January by USD 535.37 million is smaller than in December 2016 with a surplus of USD 610.24 million.

BPS data shows the value of exports through ports in South Kalimantan in January 2017 reached USD 666.33 million, down 3.67 percent compared to December by USD 691.71 million.

However, when compared with the export value in January 2016 which was USD 415.03 million, itincreased significantly by 60.55 percent.

The largest contributor to exports were mineral fuels amounted to 504.23 million USD, followed by the group of fats and oils of animal and timber groups.

"The main export destination is China with a value of USD 186.78 million, India USD 158.88 million and Japan USD 110.60 million," she said again.

While the value of imports in January amounted to USD 130.96 million up 60.76 percent compared to December 2016 which was USD 81.46 million and up 65.32 percent compared to January 2016.

The main commodities imported consist of mineral fuels USD 117.34 million, group of machinery/mechanical appliances USD 7.25 million, and the ship USD 3.73 million.

"The main suppliers of imported were Singapore with a value of 119.26 million dollars, China 3.04 million USD and Malaysia 2.46 million USD," he said again.
