Indonesia's State Secretary Ministry is preparing scenarios for the return of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to his hometown in Solo, from Jakarta on his retirement day via land and air.

Coordinator of the Presidential Special Staff Ari Dwipayana conveyed this at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Friday, in response to the president's plan to return to Solo on Sunday afternoon (October 20).

"The State Secretary Ministry is preparing scenarios for the return of President Widodo," he confirmed.

According to Communication and Informatics Minister Budi Arie Setiadi, the president is scheduled to depart from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, East Jakarta, to Solo at 15:00 local time.

Responding to the preparation, Dwipayana revealed that the State Secretariat had prepared several cars for the president's return, including a black Toyota Alphard bearing police number AD 1 JKW which was seen parked in the yard of the State Secretariat building in Jakarta on Friday.

The car was also prepared for transportation needs if he later chose to return to Solo by land, Dwipayana stated.

Regarding the scenario for the president's return via air, Dwipayana ensured that the State Secretariat had prepared a commercial plane via Halim Perdanakusuma Airport, East Jakarta.

When asked about the president's family member joining the entourage, Dwipayana could not confirm this, except for the president's spouse, Iriana Joko Widodo who will accompany him to return to Solo.

He also ensured that the state would continue to provide Presidential Security Force escort for President Widodo and his family after he retired.

Moreover, the palace protocol team has also prepared for the president's activities when he arrives in Solo.

Meanwhile, on Thursday (October 17), workers at the Presidential Palace were busy with various preparations ahead of the event to welcome the new head of state, Prabowo Subianto, on Sunday.

Several building construction, cleaning, and security officers could be seen preparing the palace area.

They cleaned the area, arranged the garden, and inspected the facilities to ensure readiness for welcoming guests who will attend the event to bid farewell to President Widodo and welcome Prabowo Subianto as the new president.
