The Batulicin Immigration Office has deported an Algerian with an initial BL(42) for staying illegally for two months in Beruntung Jaya Village, Tanah Bumbu District, South Kalimantan.
"He actually has an official stay permit from the Directorate General of Immigration, bu the validity period has expired," said head of the office Ferizal in Batulicin, Wednesday.
He expounded that BL initially got acquinted on socmed with a woman from Beruntung Jaya Village, then he came to Tanah Bumbu on May 18, 2024.
The two got married and live together in the woman's family's house until four months since BL's arrival.

The woman's family then realized that BL's bridging visa has expired on July 16, 2024. So, they reported to the immigration to extend BL's residence permit.
The officer explained that bridging visa used by BL has a validity period of only 60 days and cannot be extended.
"He should have returned to his home country before 60 days. He must apply for a new document if he want to visit again, but he ignored this," said Ferizal.
When examining the document, the Batulicin Immigration imposed a fine of Rp60 million on BL for overstay, in accordance with President Regulation No. 28 of 2019 concerning Tariff and Types of Non-tax State Revenue Applicable to the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, which is Rp1 million per day.
However, Ferizal said, BL can afford to pay the fine, so he was temporarily banned form visiting Indonesia for six months.
