Banjarbaru's Prosecutors Ready to Eradicate Extortion

Banjarbaru, Kalsel 14/1 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Banjarbaru Prosecutors office (Kejari) is ready to do its duty in the illegal levies eradication task force (saber pungli).

Head of Banjarbaru Prosecutors office Ferizal here on Saturday said it had prepared prosecutors to be involved in the team that will be inaugurated by the mayor on Monday (16/1).

"There are six prosecutors, including me, to be involved in the team to eradicate the illegal levies," he said.

He said element of prosecutor in the task force has the same duties with elements of local government officials, as well as the military and police personnel assigned.

Prosecutor as law enforcement officer ready to carry out the task to prevent and assess from a legal standpoint whether or not any act classifies as extortion.

"Controlling function covers the fields of intelligence, law enforcement, prevention in the form of socialization to all officials, including prosecution if there is evidence of extortion," he explained.

He said action can not be done alone but must coordinate with other team members to determine whether the activity of a criminal offense or misadministration.

"The result of coordination will be submitted to the respective institutions and sanctions determined by the leadership, if at Kejari then I would decide," he said.

He insisted, sanctions will be charged directly to the perpetrator of extortion if caught red-handed, but if still in the form of reports will be processed according to the procedure.
