Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR) Minister/Head of National Land Agency (BPN) Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) attended the first plenary cabinet meeting held at the Garuda Palace, Nusantara Capital City (IKN), East Kalimantan, Monday (August 12, 2024).
President Joko Widodo, who chaired the meeting, highlighted that the background of the capital city relocation is not only physical, but also mindset, work pattern, and mobility using electric vehicles and green energy.
Based on a press statement released by South Kalimantan Land Agency (BPN) in Banjarbaru, Tuesday, Minister AHY said that ATR Ministry/BPN supports the development of IKN so it runs well and sustainably.
“We also have the determination, our enthusiasm for how the IKN development can be continued, of course with the hope that it can be completed properly. It takes time, it takes process, but the spirit is how it can be continued and completed properly,” said the minister.

The plenary cabinet meeting titled "New Nusantara, Advanced Indonesia" discussed preparation for the transition of government in October 2024 by formulating policies issued in order to advance Indonesia.
“How can the target achieved by today's government be completed well while we prepare the baseline to be carried over to the next government. Of course, the good things have been achieved so far can be continued while we prepare policies to further advance our country,” said Minister AHY.
He hopes that the first plenary cabinet meeting at the IKN since Sunday (August 11, 2024) became a history to welcome the Indonesia Independence Day.
“In general the meeting went well, all felt warm and joy to welcome August 17 (Independence Day). Hopefully it will be a historic moment and bring its own spirit to the people of Indonesia,” said Minister AHY.
The plenary cabinet meeting was also attended by Vice President Ma’ruf Amin, ATR Deputy Minister/Deputy Head of BPN who is also acting Deputy Head of IKN Authority, Raja Juli Antoni, and all ministers of Onward Indonesia Cabinet.
