Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan 5/1 (AntaranewsKalsel) - South Kalimantan Narcotics Agency (BNNP) is advised to keep an eye on unofficial ports in Banjarmasin.
"Port is more vulnerable to entry of drugs into the city," said Police Commissioner Arnowo here on Thursday, after handing his post as head of the South Kalimantan BNNP to Commissioner Police Marsuali Siregar.
He said there are many unofficial ports in this region and are prone to the entry of drugs and other illegal goods. These ports are rarely supervised and monitored by officers.
"BNNP officers and other law officers should be aware of the influx of drugs at the unauthorized ports," Arnowo reminded.
In addition, he said, the airport also need to be watched out as they lack of strict supervision of drug detection equipment, such as x-ray. "X-ray at the airport of the city is still lacking, that drug trafficking through the air still get it way," he said.
He said, BNN Center will provide 40 dogs BNNP throughout Indonesia, to support their performance in the field.
"I do not know how many dogs BNNP South Kalimantan will get later," he said.
He said, BNNP South Kalimantan has many large targets that need to be revealed and anticipated in the future.
The public is expected to help BNNP and other legal officers to provide information on drug trafficking in their respective areas.
