Tanjung, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Impact of district and provincial road damage due to PT Conch South Kalimanan cement transportation operating in Tabalong continues to cause protests.

But Conch cement plant PR Yandri in Tanjung Thursday assessed damage to roads is the responsibility of its distributor, namely PT Mandiri Agus Jaya (AJM) and PT Hikmah and Rezeki (HR).

"Cement factory can not sell directly to the market, but must go through distributor or forwarding. So about the impact of the road damage is actually their responsibilities," said Yandri.

Yandri said he's ready to coordinate with the Conch Cement's disributors to address damage in Balangan and other roads.

Of some districts that crossed by cement transport, the largest road damage is in Balangan, ranging from large holes until the asphalt is bumpy.

China origin cement plant began operating two years ago in the village of  Saradang, Sub-district of Haruai, Tabalong. With a total investment of Rp6.5 trillion, Conch management always says the cement plant is a bilateral agreement, namely the Government of Indonesia and China.

"Conch cement plant is estimated to be operational in Tabalong up to 50 years into the future and achieve the target of 2017 production of 6,400 tons of cement per day," said Yandri.

Currently Conch cement production is 3,200 tonnes per day with only one killen machine operating.

According to a resident of Tanjung Town, as large corporations Conch should supporting regional development one of which to help raise the quality of roads in the public interest.
