Mayor of Banjarbaru, HM Aditya Mufti Ariffin, has successfully brought his city the lowest stunting case in South Kalimantan.
Based on development achievement reports, Banjarbaru has reduced the prevalence of stunting to 12.4 percent, or the lowest in the province, followed by Central Hulu Sungai (HST) 13 percent the Tapin District 14.4 percent.
“Alhamdulillah, Banjarbaru City Government with the support of community has succeeded in reducing stunting to the lowest. One of which is the family's role must be optimized as the main entity in preventing stunting,” said the Mayor when confirmed in Banjarbaru, Saturday.
He acknowledged that the right planning and policy is needed in the implementation, not least supported by cooperation from all elements of society.

However, he reminded, that stunting handling must be continuous and remain concentrate on the future.
“Every family in Indonesia must optimally work together to prevent stunting, to realize the Golden Indonesia 2045. This is as mandated by the President,” said Aditya.
Stunting issue has been a particular concern of both the central and regional government, because chronic malnutrition results in irreversible cognitive and physical damage, and even impacts the next generation.
This crucial problem must be of a serious concern of the regional heads, so that Aditya focuses on increasing the success of the programs implemented by the Banjarbaru City Government.
“We keep on making more intensive efforts to saving future generation from the threat of stunting through affordable and nutritionally balanced food," said Aditya.
