The original plan substation will be built in Stagen, North Pulau Laut. But the plan could not be implemented in fear four points around the Gusti Syamsir Alam airport, Stagen, could endanger the aircraft flight activity.
As a first alternative offered, the line diverted to the road around the Meranti Putih forest, and the second alternative at the back side of government employee housing complex in Sebelimbingan.
Earlier, Vice Regent Burhanuddin stated, electricity production of South and Central Kalimantan was predicted a surplus of around 60 megawatts (MW) and will be supplied to cover the electricity needs in Kotabaru.
