Kotabaru, South Kalimantan 11/12 (AntaranewsKalsel) - Completion construction of steam-fueled power plant (PLTU) in Sigam village, District of North Laut Island, Kotabaru District, South Kalimantan, continues.
Kotabaru Legislative Council Speaker Hj Alfisah here on Sunday confirmed it, after a coordination meeting with PT PLN Region South and Central Kalimantan.
"The construction of PLTU Sigam in Kotabaru is excluded from electricity projects halted due to lack of funds," said Alfisah related to the central government's announcement to stop a number of development projects in several regions in Indonesia as a result of constrained funding.
The Sigam power plant project leaves only about 15 percent of the final work. It is very unfortunate if stopped, so it was decided to be continued.
Previously published, legislative has done all efforts to make the power plant project in Kotabaru resumed and completed.
"We regret very much if the power plant project to be canceled by the central government, since most part of the projects has already been finished and the remaining 15 percent are to be resolved," said Alfisah.
In connection with this, it has coordinated with PLN's center management in Jakarta. In essential, DPRD asked the state company to proceed the project which funding from the state budget.
