Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The government of Banjarmasin builds a pool with a fountain that can lift sampan in Kayu Tangi roundabout Jalan Brigjen Hasan Basri, North Banjarmasin.


Head of Banjarmasin Sanitation and Gardening Agency Mukhyar at City Hall on Thursday said the initial construction of the fountain is to make part of the pond. "Because the budget available this year only about Rp200 million, it can not be whole," he said.

According to him, the construction of the fountain in Kayu Tangi roundabout is targeted for completion in 2017, so it could become an icon of Banjarmasin as the capital of South Kalimantan province.

"It could be seen later, the fountain looks like lifting sampan. We can beautify the landscape with decorative lights," said Mukhyar.

He said the beautification of the garden of city, which has twice won the Adipura, continues to be done, not only for the fountain, but also the procurement of decorative lighting trees and various plants in the garden of the road median.

"Such as gardens at the main street Lambung Mangkurat have been repaired with maximum," said Mukhyar.

The landscaping improvements, he said, carried also by adding a vertical garden, such as under the overpass (flyover) at the four intersection of Gatot Subroto.

"We want to promote the beauty of the gardens and greening the city, in addition to sanitation we seek continue to be handled well, because Adipura assessment ahead certainly more stringent. We must be able to retain the award," said Mukhyar who also served as the Acting Chief of the Regional Environmental Agency (BLHD).
