The South Kalimantan Provincial Government planted hundreds of pulai tree seedlings for coolness and greening environment in the area of its office in Banjarbaru City.
Head of Protection and Conservation of Natural Resources and Ecosystem of the South Kalimantan Forestry Office Pantja Satata in Banjarbaru on Saturday (April 27, 2024) said that pulai is a type of tree with green and shady leaves.
"When it grows big, its branches spread to the sides, thus it providing coolness to the environment," he said.
The planting was centered in the Forest City area of the Provincial Government Office around the office of the provincial Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) since Friday.
"We plant at least 500 tree seedings in that area," he said.

Tree planting, he said, is routinely carried out and continues to be echoed by Governor H Sahbirin Noor through Green Revolution, as this movement contains a high spirit to continue planting and planting for posterity.
"This is also in accordance with the President's direction to plant throughout rainy season in 2024," he said.
The planting action also aims as an example to the community about the importance of protecting the environment and increasing land cover with a planting culture.
"The success of planting is seen from the condition of stands that have good quality and in accordance with the purpose of planting,” said Pantja.
Tree planting is not just greening but can improve the environment, climate and people's economy.
"Let us together promote Green Revolution Movement in sustainable manner and instill awareness that every tree planted is a form of concern for the environment," he said.
