The government of South Hulu Sungai (HSS) Regency, South Kalimantan, has conducted Turkam De Loksado (which stands for go down to Loksado) to monitor and evaluate infrastructural development as well as to distribute aid to the community.
"We are grateful we have carried out Turkam De Loksado, witness the real condition in the field, because Loksado is National Tourism Strategic Area ," said acting Regent Hermansyah in Loksado, Thursday (February 8, 2024).
He said he and his team had checked the facilities and infrastructure in the Loksado Sub-district. Some roads that should be repaired.
HSS recorded a significant increase of tourist arrival, both domestic and foreign tourists, in 2023.
HSS Youth, Sports and Tourism Office recorded 428,365 tourists visit, while in 2022 it was only 247,946.
Foreign tourists visit to HSS in 2023 was dominated by 214 people from Europe. 161 from America, then Oceania 119, and Australia 119.

This year, two South Kalimantan attractions are listed in the annual national agenda the Karisma Event Nusantara (KEN) 2024. The two events are, Ruai Rindu Meratus in Tapin District and Loksado Bamboo Rafting in South Hulu Sungai District.
Hermansyah said to respond the national calender of events, that included Loksado Bamboo Rafting, HSS will carry out some concrete action at the attraction, such as improving suspension bridge, Tanuhi hot spring, and others.
He hopes the facilities and infrastructure in the Loksado to keep improving in accordance with the HSS priorities proposed in its 2025 Development Planning Forums (Musrenbang).
"What we did, we want the welfare of people in HSS to continue to increase with access to adequate infrastruture of course our economic distribution will get better," he said.
