South Kalimantan Governor Sahbirin Noor officiated a bridge named after himself, Sahbirin Noor Bridge, which connects two districts, Banjar on Jalan Martapura Lama and Barito Kuala in Jejangkit.

The bridge,, which crosses the Martapura River, is 176 meters long and 6 meters wide. The inauguration on Wednesday (January 24, 2024) was attended by the province Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda).

The governor hopes that the bridge, which was built in 2023, to have a big benefits for the people in the two districts, especially for agriculture, which is the mainstay of the economic sector.
 
He assured that the provincial goverment works to increase the development of road and bridge infrastructure in the two regions so that the development is evenly distributed in all regions.

Uncle Birin, as he is familiarly known, instructed the Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Office to smooth access to connecting road between Jejangkit Sub-district in Barito Kuala and Sungai Tabuk Sub-district in Banjar.
 
"I ask PUPR Service to repair roads which are still inadequate," he said, saying that it is important to improve people's economy.
 
He asked all parties to care and maintain the roads and bridges have been built by the government for the common good.
 
Head of PUPR South Kalimantan Ahmad Solhan said that road repair from Martapura Lama to Jejangkit have been budgeted to be carried out in 2024.
 
"For damaged roads, it has been budgeted and implemented in 2024. Later there will be access road that will go direstly to Jalan Martapura Lama and road to Barito Kuala, including repairs to the Jejangkit bridge," said Ahmad Solhan.
