University of Lambung Mangkurat (ULM) is included in the 47 Top Campuses in Indonesia based on the 2024 higher education clustering issued by the the Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Ministry (Kemendikbudristek).

"Alhamdulilah, this year ULM is again among the best national campuses by maintaining its position in the independent cluster," said ULM Chancellor Prof. Ahmad Alim Bachri in Banjarmasin, Monday.

He said ULM's survival in the independent or mandiri cluster was the result of efforts to improve quality and quantity of academic performance, research, and community service. 

Alim keeps encouraging the ULM academic community to have high commitment and enthusiasm to achieve achievements in implementing Tridharma (three missions of universities).

"The campus provides full support for students and lecturers in academic and non-academic activities that have a positive impact on improving the quality of ULM in the national and international arena," he emphasized.

With this achievement, ULM has further strengthened its position as the best and the largest university in Kalimantan region thanks to the support of 119 professors, nine doctoral (S3) program, and six internationally accredited study programs providing a guarantee for 37 thousand students to obtain competitive learning.

Higher education clustering is a gruping of universities based on their reaserch and community service performance measured through an Integrated National Scientific Information System (SINTA).

There are five clusters formed by the ministry (Kemendikbudristek), mandiri or independent cluster, utama, madya, pratama, and binaan. 

This year a total 1,961 campus are clustered. They consist of 47 campuses in mandiri cluster, 194 campuses in utama cluster, 277 campuses in madya cluster, 425 campuses in pratama, and 1,018 campuses in binaan. 

Mandiri is the highest cluster that indicates the best performance among other clusters.

Campuses included in this cluster have full authority to manage and develop their research and community service carried out by students or lecturers and are expected to become example and inspiration for campuses in other clusters.
