The Banjarmasin City government-owned wastewater treatment company Perumda Pal planted trees in effort to save water, Saturday.

Not only employees, the action which took place at the neighborhod of Sungai Andai, North Banjarmasin, also involvvev environment and humanitarian activists Perkumpulan Hijau Daun or Green Leaf Association (PHD) and Forum Komunitas Hijau or Green Community Forum (FKH).

Director of Perumda Pal Endang said that the activity had been carried out several times in collaboration with the local environmental activists with the aim of saving water.

By planting tress, the city will become shady, beautiful, and cool, but most importantly lots of trees will store water, because trees absorb water.

"With lots of trees, river will be clean, river water supply will be sufficient, and sanitation will be good too," he said.

A good sanitation, a beautiful river in the City of Banjarmasin, will contribute to the healthy environment, reduces stunting, wards off itching, and provides a water supply for all living creasters.

In addition, a good sanitation can attract investment that could make the city as a metropolitan, he added.

Several types of trees were planted during the action, including trambesi, angsana, tabubuya, and other protective trees.

These trees were a donation from Perkumpulan Hijau Daun (PHD) which chaired by Anas Montela.

Anas Montelah then received a donation of PHD activity clothes from Perumda Pal and witnessed by the PHD's coaches Uncle Anum and Rahmatullah.
