The District Government of Banjar, South Kalimantan, distributed seven more water ambulances to community health centers (puskesmas) to support health services, especially in waters areas.

"We ask that the water ambulances prepared by Banjar Regency Government for seven puskesmas to be put to good use in helping public health services, especially in areas that are difficult to reach," said Deputy Regent of Bupati Banjar Said Idrus Al-Habsy when handing them over in Dalam Pagar Ulu Village, East Martapura, Tuesday.

The seven water vehicles that modified into mobile health facilities were handed over to seven puskesmas, namely East Martapura, West Martapura, Sungai Tabuk 1, 2 and 3, Aranio, and Aluh-Aluh.
 
Deputy Regent pointed out that the operation of the seven water ambulances were to support the puskesmas'health services in water areas that are quite difficult to reach.
 
"Many of the geographical conditions of Banjar District are located in water areas and access to health service centers is expected to be easier with the operation of the seven water ambulances," Said Idrus hoped.
 
He really appreciated the strategic steps taken by the Health Office to improve health services for community, especially in water areas.
 
Head of Banjar Health Office Yasna Khairina said that the function of the water ambulance is not only to transport patients but also equipped  with emergency equipment, including oxygen, nurses and drivers.
 
"The operation of the water ambulance is handed over to the puskesmas and is expected to be in accordance with its aim to help every community, especially in water areas, to get maximum health services," she said.
