Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - The Authority of Syamsudin Noor Airport Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan, is still tightening security in and around the airport area.


"Each vehicle enters the airport area should be checked using a mirror tool pointed to bottom part and examination of baggage at the rear of car," said General Manager of state port operator PT Angkasa Pura I Syamsudin Noor Airport Handy H in Banjarbaru, Monday.

He said this as an obligatory to every vehicle and PT AP I has prepared a tent right across the airport gate to check vehicles.

The purpose of conducting such security prosedures, he said, is to assured no dangerous goods which potentially threaten the safety of flights and airport environment.

"All vehicle must through examnination, either personal car, driver, motorcycle, taxi transporter or travel car. It begins from 09.00 in the morning till night," he said.

According to him, the tighening of security has been running since June 29 or D-7 of Eid to anticipate a possibilty of threats and disturbance to vital objects of national air transport traffic lane.

"The security implementation involving TNI (army) and Polri (police), including Aviation Security (Avsec) officers to check every car entering airport parking area," he said.

To avoid along queue, the airport authority divides lane for four and two wheels vehicles. "So far examination running smoothly did no bother to passengers as we open two lane for vehicles," Airport Operation and Readiness Department Head Trubus Suharsono added.
