South Kalimantan has been chosen by the Youth and Sports Ministry for the location of the 2023 interprovincial youth exchange.
South Kalimantan Regional Secretary Roy Rizali Anwar in Banjarbaru on Thursday said that he had met with the ministry team for the 2023 interprovincial youth exchange (PPAP).
"South Kalimantan has the opportunity to become the central zone for the placement of the program as conveyed by the ministry," he said.
Roy assured the provincial government welcomed this program very well and would convey it to the Governor H Sahbirin Noor.
“We'll record the details what we need to prepare. If there is anything for the budget, we will convey to the regional head,” he said.
Roy also said the possibility of collaboration with the district/city government, considering the participants would be placed in several areas in South Kalimantan.
Meanwhile, Head of Domestic Partnership at the ministry Y Yustia Elita is visiting South Kalimantan to meet the regional leadership.
"Alhamdulillah we have been received by the Provincial Regional Secretary. We hope that this activity will be fully suported by the provincial, regency and city government, because this is a national program as a ministry's pilot project. It's not specifically for Youth and Sports Ministry but across sectors," he said.
In this program, 70 participants will be selected consisting of 1 young man and 1 young woman from each province who have passed the selection at the provincial level.
After being selected, the 70 participants will be distributed to live in two zones, namely Riau Province for the western zone, and South Kalimantan Province for the central zone.
Participants will settle in the area, planning program they can implement to overcome the problems that exist in the area. They should collaborate with the provincial government and the government implementation units in each district or city.
“They will meet with regional apparatuses to support the activities that will be carried out by the participants in the local area," said Yustia.
