Banjarmasin, South Kalimantan (AntaranewsKalsel) - Criminal Investigation Unit Police requests all owners of business to activate and re-check their CCTV to anticipate crime before Ramadhan.


"Ahead of Ramadan, especially towards Eid, criminal actions are expected to increase in the city," said the Head of Criminal Police Commissioner Arief Prasetya in Banjarmasin on Monday.

He said, active CCTV in the business places would help police to investigate case of criminal actions.

"Obviously police will continue to improve safety by frequent patrolling in areas prone to criminal acts," he said.

He also asked the public can better safeguard themselves in between with no flashy dressed wearing excessive jewelry.

"Never wear (excessive) jewelry when outdoors and avoid dark streets and try to always be with friends when traveling," said the man who is familiar with the media crew.

Former Head of Mobile Detective of South Kalimantan Police said, the criminals in Banjarmasin should dissuade commit their actions.

The police would not hesitate to incapacitate offenders with a bullet as instructed if the perpetrators endanger the victim.

"Shoot in place street criminals who endanger the public and officers in the field," he said.
