Approximately 18,000 residents of South Kalimantan had received the second booster or the fourth dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, Head of the South Kalimantan Health Agency Dr Diauddin informed.

"Indeed, the realization is not as fast as the first, the second and the third dose of the COVID-19 vaccine," he admitted here on Monday.

This is not compulsory for residents to get the vaccine. The program is only to encourage people to follow it for the sake of increasing immunity.

"So those who are aware of the importance of health in facing a pandemic still come to the community health center (puskesmas) for the second booster vaccine," he said.
