The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded South Kalimantan's inflation stood at 0.78 percent in June 2022 with a consumer index price (CPI) of 114.04 and all three referenced cities beared inflation.

Head of South Kalimantan BPS Yos Rusdiansyah through an official statistics news on Saturday noted that Banjarmasin posted 0.71 percent inflation with a CPI of 113,80.
 
"Kotabaru 1.32 percent with 116.38 CPI and Tanjung 0.85 percent with a CPI of 113.83," he stated.

Based on calender year, South Kalimantan experienced an inflation of 4.15 percent in June 2022, while year on year inflation rate (June 2022 to June 2021) was 5.95 percent.

Surge of prices were the biggest contributor to the inflation as was shown by index of 10 groups of expenditure, including food, beverage and tobacco by 1.41 percent.
 
Clothes and footwear 0.77 percent, equipments, tools, and routine household maintenance 0.35 persen, health group 0.13 percent.
 
Group of transportation 2.20 percent, information, communication and financia service 0.04 percent, recreation and culture 1.39 percent, education 0.10 percent, food and drink provision 0.13 percent.

"The highest contributors to inflation were airfare, filter kretek cigarettes, chicken eggs, shallots, cayenne pepper, catfish, red chilies, tomatoes and papayas," he said.
 
However, price of some commodities have decreased at the same time. They were dried mackarel, honey, snakehead fish, dragon fruit, garlic, squid, lime, potatoes, and trakulu fish.
 
Among 11 cities in Kalimantan, Tanjung Selor posted the highest inflation 1.78 percent and the lowest is Pontianak 0.07 percent.
