The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded South Kalimantan's inflation stood at 1.15 percent in April 2022 with a consumer index price of 112.43 and all three referenced cities beared inflation.
Head of South Kalimantan BPS Yos Rusdiansyah here on Tuesday said that price hike had caused inflation as indicated by all indexes of expenditure groups signicifantly.
"Inflation in Banjarmasin was 1.22 percent with a CPI of 112.40, Kotabaru 0.90 percent and CPI of 113.46, and Tanjung 0.68 percent with 111.56 CPI," he said.
The food, beverage, and tobacco group of expenditure rose by 1.70 percent, clothing and foot wear group 0.68 percent.
The housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuel group 0.32 percent, the household tools and equipments, and routine maintenance 1.00 percent, and health group 0.28 percent.
Transportation group 4.03 percent, information, communication and financial service 0.21 percent, recreation and culture 0.93 percent, food and beverage provision 0.05 percent, personal care 0.29 percent.
The highest contribution to inflation in April were air transportation, cooking oil, gasoline, household fuel, squid, manggo, red chili, snakehead fish, car, and spinach.
Based on calender year, South Kalimantan experienced an inflation of 2.69 percent in April 2022, while year on year inflation rate (April 2022 to April 2021) was 5.02 percent.
Meanwhile, all 90 cities in Indonesia recorded inflation with the highest in Tanjung Pandan 2.58 percent and the lowest in Gunung Sitoli 0.22 percent.
In Kalimantan, all cities also recorded inflation with the highest in Sintang, West Kalimantan, 1.58 percent and the lowest in Tanjung Selor 0.60 percent.
