The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) has recorded 0.65 percent inflation in South Kalimantan in May 2022 with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 113.16.
 
Head of South Kalimantan BPS Yos Rusdiansyah here on Saturday (May 4, 2022) said that all three indicator cities contributed inflation. Namely, Banjarmasin 0.53 percent with a CPI of 113,00.
 
"Kotabaru 1.23 percent and 114.86 CPI and Tanjung 1.17 percent with 112.87 CPI," he said.

Prices increase have caused inflation as showed by eight indexes of expenditure groups, namely food, beverage, and tobacco 1.53 percent.
 
Clothing and footwear group by 1.97 percent, tools, equipment, and routine maintenance group 0.56 percent, health group 0.10 percent.
 
The group of information, communication and finance service 0.10 percent, group of recreation, sports, and culture 2.57 percent, meal, drink, and restaurant 0.01 percent.  Then personal care and other services contributed 0.82 percent. 

The highest contribution to inflation were snakehead fish, shallot, and chicken egg.
 
"(But some prices) fall such as sea transportation, papaya, dragon fruit, garlic, green chili, spinach, sweet corn," he mentioned.

From 90 indicator cities in Indonesia, inflation hits 87 cities and deflation occured in 3 cities. The highest inflation was in Tanjung Pandan 2.24 percent and the lowest in Gunung Sitoli and Tangerang 0.05 percent. 

Meanwhile, the deepest deflation in Kotamobagu 0.21 percent and the lowest in Merauke 0.02 percent. 
 
In Kalimantan all cities recorded inflation with the highest in Kotabaru 1.23 percent and the lowest in Balikpapan 0.52 percent.
